Our periodontists offer dental implants to those in the Rochester area. Dental implants are considered the ultimate solution to replace missing teeth thanks to their numerous health benefits, security in the jaw, function and aesthetics. Essentially, a dental implant is as close to a natural tooth as you can get and with proper oral care, they can last you the rest of your life. Without replacing missing teeth, you may experience jaw bone deterioration, shifting teeth, and an altered bite, which can negatively impact your quality of life as well as cause additional dental concerns. Dental implants can prevent these concerns by stimulating the jaw bone for continued growth and giving you a natural bite and smile.
As a team of board-certified periodontists, our doctors have the exceptional skills, technology and education necessary to place your dental implants with uncompromised safety and accuracy. Periodontists are experts in the soft and hard tissues of the mouth (bone and gums) as well as being one of the most qualified professionals to place implants. All our doctors have been extensively trained including being certified in Periodontology from the prestigious Eastman Dental Center and are members of the Academy of Osseointegration. We believe in practical, reasonable care that is both honest and efficient in order to treat our patients the same way that we would hope to be treated.
When placing dental implants, we always begin with a thorough evaluation of your oral health and discuss your smile goals. Using a cone beam CT scanner (CBCT) we will capture highly detailed images of your mouth and oral structure, showing us levels of jaw bone, location of nerves and surrounding tooth roots. This allows us to create a computer-generated dental implant guide, which helps guide our doctors during the implant process to the most accurate angle and depth necessary for success. Once your implant is within your jaw, your general dentist will be able to restore it with a lifelike dental crown. We also feature dental sedation to make your implant surgery anxiety- and pain-free.
